Manningham Podiatry has a keen interest in the assessment and treatment of children's foot problems. Children's feet start life very flexible and pliable and develop into a more stable base to carry them as they grow and develop.
Foot problems in children are often asymptomatic and may be first noticed by a parent. Problems may present as an unusual gait or walking style, uneven shoe wear or tripping over more than what would be considered normal. Some other problems may be symptomatic and cause pain in active children.
Children of all ages can be seen by a Podiatrist and we can give advice regarding footwear and your child's foot and leg development.
Some common children's foot problems include:
- - Flat feet
- - Intoeing
- - Knock knees
- - Toe walking
- - Severs disease (heel pain)
- - Osgood-Schlatter disease (knee pain)
- - Skin and nail conditions such as warts and ingrown toenails
